With camp right around the corner we are pleased to announce the release of BadgeTracker 3.5. With this new version comes 3 new features: portal settings, file manager and activity progress tracking.
Portal Settings
The BadgeTracker portal serves as your camps one stop shop for all camp information. With portal settings you now have more control over the content displayed on the portal and how it’s displayed.
File Manager
In an attempt to bring one more piece of information under the BadgeTracker umbrella we are introducing the File Manager. The file manager gives you the ability to upload files for your users to download. Once files are uploaded they can be grouped together, displayed on the camp portal and tracked to see how many times they have been downloaded.
Progress Tracking
The big announcement in this release is BadgeTracker Progress Tracking. Users now have the ability to keep track of a campers progress towards completing the requirements of the activities they have signed up for. Simply log into the program, enter the requirements for each activity and begin tracking who has completed what requirements.
To find out more about BadgeTracker progress tracking please view tutorial video available here.

Let’s start with what it’s not. myScoutPath is not:
- a new store found in your local mall
- a brand of walking stick
- the name of a new camp or outdoor destination
- a new video game
- or a dessert topping
myScoutPath is an online community aimed at Boy Scouts. The purpose of this site is to give kids and adults alike a friendly, safe and secure destination to visit on the web where they can connect with other scouts and adults across the country, and hopefully the world. Scouts and leaders will have the ability to create profiles and keep track of advancements, completed training, merit badges and other awards they receive.
Users will be able to find and join their troop within the community as well as join groups where other people have already gathered with similar interests. The community will serve as an invaluable tool for troops by providing them with online event calendars, the ability to send messages to all of their members within the community and keep tabs on scouts, even after they have made Eagle and moved on.
This is just a quick and dirty description of what myScoutPath is. Over the next few months we will be posting more information and sneak peaks of the project here. If your interested in being notified when the site launches, sign-up for the mailing list and we will send you an e-mail when it’s ready to go.

It’s been a while since my last update. I apologize for that but time has gotten away from me a little bit. I pushed some minor updates to the program over the last two days.
We are now using Recaptcha (http://www.recaptcha.org) for the captcha control on the sign-up form to help prevent spam submissions. This will hopefully better protect us against spam and also help a good cause in the process.
The sign-up form has been redesigned. The old format was getting a little messy with the addition of sheet comments (which are coming shortly). So, I have simplified the mark-up and format of the form so that it’s easier to follow.
As I said above, sheet comments are coming very soon. You should see that feature sometime in the next two weeks.

It’s been about 2 months since the relaunch and things are progressing nicely. We have added more than 100 new sign-up-sheets since then and the number keeps climbing. I’m glad that you are finding the program useful!
I’ve added a new feature tonight to allow you to collect additional information (beyond the 4 default fields) from your sign-up’s. This option will add a non-restricted text box to your sheet which allows your sign-ups to enter anything. So, if you need more than name, email and phone from your sign-ups simply instruct them to enter the other information in the additional information field.
To use this feature, simply select Yes next to “Collect additional information?” question on the new and edit sheet forms and you should be all set. As always, if you have any problems or questions just send an e-mail to info@sign-up-sheet.com.
Next big update will be sheet comments, so stay tuned!

Sign-up-sheets should be working again now, sorry for the hick-up. You may have to refresh your browser in order to clear out your browser cache but things should be working again.

Users are experiencing problems with their sheets displaying properly. We are aware of the problem and are working with our hosting provider to correct the issue.
We will post another news item when the problem has been resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Sign-Up-Sheet is all new! It’s been a while since this project was revisited and we apologize for that. But, we are back on track now and have a bunch of ideas coming. The most obvious change is the new site design and interface. A change that isn’t so obvious is a completely rewritten backend using the CodeIgniter framework. Big thanks for the folks From EllisLabs for creating such a wonderful tool for PHP web development!
The other most noticable change is the sheet addresses. Each sign-up-sheet has it’s own unique address and for those of you that have been with us since the beginning they used to be pretty bulky (ex. http://www.sign-up-sheet.com/signup/for/something). Well, thats not the case anymore. Sheet addresses are now as short and sweet as can be (ex. http://sheetkey.sign-up-sheet.com). It took us a while to get the hang of this but we finally nailed it.
Thats pretty much it for new things. We have a bunch of ideas for new features but we wanted to get the re-development live as soon as possible. Stay tuned for new things to come.
